A Focus Timer for ADHD Brains That Get Bored

If a 25-minute timer feels impossible, start smaller: Sunny's Short cycles 10/3 set gives 10 minutes of focus and 3 of rest. Or alternate two tasks, so the next one feels like a reward, not a pause. Sunny is a timer, not a medical tool.

Why Do Long Timers Feel Hard?

Many people with ADHD say the hard part is starting, and that interest fades before the timer ends. A shorter block is easier to start. A change of task brings back some novelty, which a plain break does not.

What Interval Length Should I Try?

Start with 10 minutes of focus and 3 of rest. If 10 feels easy for a few days, try 15 or 20. Uneven blocks are normal: 7 minutes of a game can earn 20 minutes of a hard task.

Can Switching Tasks Help Instead of Breaks?

For many people, yes. Pair a hard task with an easy one, or work with something you enjoy. Sunny's Work ↔ Fun set does this: 20 minutes of work, 10 of something fun. See the method.

What If I Lose Track of Time?

The chime rings on time with the phone locked, and the Lock Screen shows the countdown. When it rings, switch, or add 1 or 5 minutes. If you hyperfocus, "Treat time as a minimum" lets the clock run on and count the extra time.

Will the App Make Me Feel Guilty?

No. Streaks never scold you, there is no shame messaging, and the one daily reminder stays off until you turn it on. The free tier never expires and never loses features.
